Congratulations are in order for Mike Peck on "graduating" from our Vocational Rehabilitation job coaching program through our Salmon Idaho office. Janelle Huston, Assistant Developmental Specialist in our Salmon office, presented Mike with his certificate and a gift card. Mike has worked at Lamb's Market in Challis for almost 30 Years.
Scott, current owner of Lamb's market, mentioned how much Mike has achieved in the time he has worked at the market (Mike was originally hired by Scott's father). Mike not only greets every customer, but he has also taken on more assignments over the years at the store. Asked about hiring individuals who have a disability, Scott said "If given the opportunity, they will grow and accomplish more than you might think"
Job Coach Robin has supported Mike on the job for about 13 years in helping him focus and stay on task and has seen the natural supports that the Lamb's Market team has surrounded Mike with. Robin has been unable to be in store to coach Mike for a few months, so the mutual decision, by all parties, was made for Mike to successfully graduate from the program. We know that Scott and his team provide a great support network so that Mike to continue to thrive.
