Join us this Monday 3/21 for recognizing World Down Syndrome Day.
Every year, on March 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. Socks were chosen because the karyotype of DS chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!
Take a picture of your mismatched socks and post them on your favorite Social Media platform and tag #eids and #rockyoursocks
